Certificates of Deposit

Adams County Bank offers many different terms, conditions and rates on our Certificates of Deposit. A Certificate of Deposit may be opened with a minimum of $500.00. Interest on terms of six months up to thirty-six months is paid quarterly and may be re-deposited to the certificate of deposit, mailed by check, or deposited to another Adams County Bank account.

Money Market

  • Minimum $1,000 deposit to open account
  • Check Imaging Statement
  • Free Internet Banking
  • No service charges if $1,000 monthly average balance is maintained
  • Interest is compounded and credited to your account every statement cycle**
  • Account is limited to 6 debits per month, no more than 3 may be made by check, draft or debit card.

Health Savings Accounts *

A Health Savings Account (HSA) is a tax-exempt custodial account established exclusively for the purpose of paying or reimbursing medical expenses of you, your spouse and your children.

Eligibility:

You are eligible to make a HSA contribution if you:

  • Are covered under a high-deductible health plan
  • Are not also covered by any other health plan
  • Are not enrolled in Medicare
  • Cannot be claimed as a dependent on another person’s tax return

Contributions:

If you qualify for a HSA, you, your employer, your family members, and any other person (including non-individuals) may contribute to your HSA. This is true whether you are self-employed or unemployed. The maximum annual contribution amount is generally 100% of the annual medical insurance deductible.*

Other Benefits:

  • Contributions are deductible
  • Contributions made by an employer may be excluded from employee’s gross income
  • Earnings grow tax deferred
  • Distributions for qualified medical expenses are tax free
  • “Portable” account stays with you if you change employers or leave the work force
  • A “catch-up” contribution is available for individuals who are age 55+
